Important social developments and movements often begin with self-empowerment, and not just in pop culture. Nobody needed any musical training to play punk rock. Bass, guitar, drums and three chords were enough. This dilettantism gave rise to an epoch-making musical genre. You didn't need much to play Football either - a kind of ball, maybe a few school bags and off you go. This simplicity of the game brought Football its worldwide success. The feeling of simply taking Football into your own hands gave rise to a mass phenomenon called recreational soccer with hobby and bar teams, wild and colorful leagues, the punk rock of football culture.
